The Community College Research Center (CCRC) at Teachers College, Columbia University and the University of Texas at Austin (UT Austin) are conducting research on how dual enrollment can be used to broaden college access and improve postsecondary outcomes for students in high school CTE programs by creating stronger, more purposeful on-ramps to college programs and career paths. The attached document provides more information about this study.
Centinela Valley Union High School District was recommended to the CCRC team by colleagues at Career Ladders Project as being especially effective in developing and scaling CTE dual enrollment programs as on-ramps to career-path postsecondary degree and apprenticeship programs. Because of this, the research team is interested in learning more about the practices at our high schools that help support the expansion of CTE and dual enrollment programs as on-ramps to college programs and careers.
Researchers from CCRC and UT Austin would like to conduct a site visit and interviews to learn about our district’s work. They are interested in speaking with:
administrators and staff from the school district who oversee CTE and dual enrollment and,
students, site admin/principals, and program staff from the high school operating CTE and dual enrollment.
