Personnel Commissioner Vacancy
The Centinela Valley Union High School District is currently seeking letters of interest from candidates for
appointment to the Personnel Commission as the Joint Commissioner. The term of office will be December 1, 2025 through December 1, 2028.

The Personnel Commission is a public body responsible for the administration of a Merit System, which oversees the selection, retention, and promotion of Classified (non-teaching) employees in the public school system. It is composed of three (3) members from the local community appointed for three-year terms with the term of one member expiring each year.
Each Personnel Commissioner receives the sum of $50.00 for each meeting attended in any one-month and medical benefits. Personnel Commission meetings are held on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 5:00 p.m. at the District Office.
To qualify as a Personnel Commissioner, you must meet all the following criteria:
- Be a registered voter and resident within the Centinela Valley UHSD boundaries;
- Be a known adherent to the principles of the Merit System and support the concept of employment, continuance in employment, in-service promotional opportunities, and other related matters on the basis of merit and fitness;
- Not be a member of the governing board of any school district or county board of education;
- Not be an employee of the Centinela Valley Union High School District;
- Be able to attend monthly Personnel Commission meetings at the Centinela Valley Union High School District office at 5:00 p.m.
